SASHAcon is a free annual student-organized secular convention in the college town of Columbia, MO, in mid-Missouri, and is intended to help all people in the Midwest, especially students, get involved in secular activism and learn from our phenomenal speakers.
The first SASHAcon was a small affair held in 2009. Organizing for a full-scale SASHAcon began in the summer of 2013, when the officers of MU SASHA (Skeptics, Atheists, Secular Humanists & Agnostics) gathered together to plan a free conference for nonreligious people to meet others in the community and meet the activists who have come before them. Through the hard work of a few college students, we have created the type of conference that we, as students, would want to go to. We are proud to hold the conference on the beautiful MU campus.
We often work with the advisory support of the Kansas City Atheist Coalition and the Secular Student Alliance at University of Central Missouri, two of the best secular groups in the Show-Me State.
MU SASHA (Skeptics, Atheists, Secular Humanists & Agnostics) is an officially sanctioned skeptic/secular student group at the University of Missouri. We have been an active group since we were founded in fall 2009. We are affiliated with the Secular Student Alliance, Center for Inquiry on Campus, and American Atheists. Meetings are held on a weekly basis during the spring and fall.
